About Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport
The Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) Airport is also known as the Suvarnabhumi Airport or the (New) Bangkok International Airport and it serves the capital city of Thailand.

The airport’s IATA code was inherited from the Don Mueang International Airport after the latter ceased international commercial flights.
The services of the new airport opened on September 15, 2006 for limited domestic flights, while on September 28, 2006 it started serving most domestic flights as well as international commercial flights.
As such, the Bangkok International Airport is the primary hub for numerous airline companies among which Thai Airways International, Bangkok Airways, Orient Thai Airlines, Thai AirAsia, and will be a hub for the new Thai Tiger Airways.
